Throughout the book we never learn Caish's age, sex, or race. ![]() The book gives the reader a ride along in the mind of lottery winner Caish Calloway. ![]() More specifically, it is about what happens when one wins or inherits a massive amount of money-and, what happens when they spend through it. Malibu Motel is a novel based on a true story and is essentially about the modern American culture of brutal capitalism and runaway consumerism. Money gives happiness a run for its money."
